UPC to GS1 Barcode Change Service
Get your UPC to GS1 barcode updates for $500
Every day, thousands of Amazon listings are suppressed without prior notice—often due to barcode mismatches. If the UPCs you’re using don’t align with GS1’s official database, Amazon may take your listings offline without warning. The platform has become increasingly strict about barcode compliance, making GS1 the only acceptable standard.
Using incorrect or incompatible barcodes can result in:
- Listing suppression and removal from search results
- Rejection of Brand Registry and A+ Content submissions
- Lost rankings and reviews after catalog merges
- Revenue disruption during critical sales periods
Don’t let something as technical as a barcode jeopardize your business. At The Ecommerce Enthusiasts, we handle the full process of correcting your UPCs to GS1-compliant barcodes so your listings stay live, optimized, and protected.
Your ASINs Might Be at Risk!
Amazon is now aggressively removing listings that don’t have GS1-verified barcodes. What worked in the past is no longer safe. Sellers who delay switching are putting their sales, rankings, and even brand credibility at risk. Protect your business now before your ASINs disappear.
Amazon’s AI Crackdown
A new automated system scans millions of listings daily, flagging and suppressing any ASINs with barcodes that don’t match GS1.
Massive Daily Suppressions
Tens of thousands of sellers wake up to find their listings vanished—no warning, just gone—because of invalid or outdated UPCs.
Brand Registry Blocked
Without GS1 compliance, Amazon denies Brand Registry applications, A+ Content, and Brand Story updates, stopping your growth in its tracks.
Lost Reviews & Rankings
Forced catalog merges can erase your hard-earned reviews, rankings, and sales history—years of progress wiped away instantly.
Sudden Sales Collapses
One suppressed ASIN can freeze your revenue stream overnight, wrecking cash flow and burying your product’s rank.
Old Listings Under Audit
Even listings that have been live for years aren’t safe. Amazon’s system is actively auditing the entire catalog for GS1 compliance.
Got Questions? We've Got Answers.
Everything You Need to Know About UPC to GS1 Barcode Change Service
What documents or information do I need to provide when ordering?
GS1 Certified UPC Barcodes.
How long does it take to complete the change on Amazon?
Typically 3–4 weeks. The timeline can vary depending on several factors since it often requires filing multiple support tickets with Amazon.
If the original ASIN changes, will my inventory be affected?
No. Your inventory will remain the same. Only the ASIN identifier may change.
Is this service guaranteed to work?
We have a proven track record since 10/13/22, successfully helping clients switch to GS1 UPCs. While Amazon’s process can be complex, our success rate is extremely high.
What impact does changing the UPC have?
Minimal impact.
What is the scope of work for this service?
We only handle the UPC field change. Issues like reinstating a removed/yanked ASIN require a separate service purchase.
Will my listings be down during the change?
Usually no downtime is required. Rarely, Amazon may generate a new ASIN, which can cause up to 24 hours of downtime. In that case, we relist your ASIN with everything intact.
Will the old UPC automatically update to GS1 in Seller Central?
Yes. The update reflects directly in Seller Central.
After conversion, can I send products with the new GS1 barcode and skip the FNSKU sticker?
Yes. You can use GS1 barcodes moving forward. However, we recommend updating packaging labels during your next manufacturing run.
Will having both old UPC and new GS1 on the same ASIN cause inventory issues?
No. Both codes remain valid on the same ASIN. Amazon accepts both, so there won’t be stock or check-in issues.
Will updating the UPC in the US also update it in Canada (or other markets)?
Yes. UPCs are universal. Updating in the US updates other marketplaces automatically, though changes may take extra time to sync.
Will a UPC change disrupt my listing placement or rankings?
No. The change happens through an ASIN merge, so all data, reviews, and inventory remain intact.
After the change, do I still need to apply Amazon FNSKU stickers?
You can continue using FNSKU labels, but we recommend switching to the new GS1 barcode in future production runs. Only keep one scannable barcode visible on packaging.
If I use Amazon barcode stickers temporarily, do I need to cover the GS1 barcode?
Yes. Until Amazon fully accepts your GS1 barcode, cover it with the Amazon barcode. Amazon only allows one scannable barcode on incoming inventory.
